Game 1 of Marble Falls playoff series postponed to May 11
KERRVILLE — Game 1 of the Marble Falls High School-San Antonio Alamo Heights best-of-three playoff series will be played May 11 instead of May 10 with a 7 p.m. first pitch.
That means Games 2 and 3, if needed, will be played May 12 beginning at 1 p.m. The series will be at Kerrville Tivy High School, 3250 Loop 534.
But if weather or field conditions don’t allow the series to start until May 12, Mustangs head coach David Norwood said the two squads will play a one-game, winner-take-all contest.
Marble Falls will start senior pitcher Derek Steffek (5-3) in the first game. He is expected to match up against Heights pitcher Brandon Garwood (8-4, 1.90 ERA).
Marble Falls senior Clynt Powell is out after having surgery on his hand earlier in the week, while junior Jay Watson suffered a foot injury during a practice and isn’t expected to play.
