E. Doris Hart
E. Doris Hart, 90, of Burnet died April 25, 2012. She was born in Brookesmith on Feb. 4, 1922, to Edward E. and Ivy Pearl Bien Burleson.
She worked for First State Bank in Corpus Christi and then Frost Bank in San Antonio. Later, she managed apartments in San Antonio.
In 1941, she married W.C. Matlock. They had two sons and were married 16 years.
In 1963, she married John M. Hart.
She loved her family and dancing. In her younger days, she played steel guitar in a band. She was always complimenting people, dressing up and wearing jewelry.
Survivors include son Wayne Matlock and wife Ann of Kingsland; sister Melba Jo Cameron and husband Mac; grandchildren Terry Barrick and husband Jeff, Amy Matlock and Lori Slough and husband Chad; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Hart in 1997; son Larry Joe Matlock; and grandson Curtis Matlock.
Visitation is noon-4 p.m. May 1 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. A graveside service is 1 p.m. May 2 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
