NRA Club Champion Challenge is May 19 at Copperhead Creek Gun Club in Marble Falls

MARBLE FALLS — The first NRA Club Champion Challenge is May 19 at the Copperhead Creek Gun Club.

The recreational shooting contest is open to groups, organizations and individuals of all experience and is 9 a.m. at the club, located in Hidden Falls Adventure Park, 7030 RR 1431 East.

National Rifle Association membership is not required.

The gun club, the Burnet County 4-H Rifle Team and the National Rifle Association Competitive Shooting Division are sponsoring the event.

In the contest, each member of a team of four must fire four courses: hunting rifle, big bore pistol or revolver, shotgun-trap and shotgun-skeet. Team scores are compiled for overall, category and individual awards.

The cost is $30 for each member or $120 for a four-person team. Registration is due by May 13. Make checks payable to Burnet County 4-H Shooting Sports, 601 CR 123-A, Marble Falls, TX 78654.

Refreshments will be provided by the clubhouse. No alcohol is allowed on the range property.

No competitive shooting apparel is permitted. Participants must supply their own eye and ear protection and ammunition.
