MARBLE FALLS — While one Marble Falls High School team is preparing for its playoff debut, another was given new life.

The Lady Mustang softball team (18-9, 8-4) will host Austin LBJ in a one-game, winner-take-all contest in the first round of the playoffs 7:30 p.m. April 27 at Scearce Softball Field, 2101 Mustang Drive.

The Lady Jaguars finished second in District 26-4A.

Meanwhile, the Mustang baseball team (3-8, 7-18) has a chance to force a play-in game for the final playoff spot.

That’s because Leander Rouse (13-11, 4-7) lost to Leander Vandegrift (8-16, 4-7) 6-3 April 20.

The Mustangs will play at Vandegrift, 9500 McNeil Drive in Austin, while Rouse will go to Cedar Park Vista Ridge. Both games are 7 p.m. April 27.

If Marble Falls beats Vandegrift and Vista Ridge defeats the Raiders, there will be a three-way tie for fourth place.

Mustangs head coach David Norwood said he was traveling to an undisclosed location to work out the details of the possible three-way tie April 23.
