LIBERTY HILL — The first round of District 25-3A didn’t end the way the Burnet High School softball team wanted.

The Lady Dawgs (15-7, 3-2) lost to Liberty Hill 8-3 April 3.

The Lady Panthers (17-6, 5-0) scored all the runs they needed in the first inning, plating five off five hits, and then added three more runs in the fourth inning.

Burnet’s Hillary Foster earned an RBI in the fifth, while Amanda Green picked up an RBI in the seventh.

Liberty Hill remains atop the district standings, while Burnet is third.

Burnet pitcher Kristen Spinn allowed eight hits with a walk and no earned runs in the loss.

The Lady Dawgs host Lampasas 7 p.m. April 5 at Bulldog Diamonds, 1000 The Green Mile in Burnet.
