ALLEN — The two-man team of Marble Falls High School anglers Austin Ellis and Hunter McNeese caught two fish weighing a total of 5.9 pounds at the recent SAF Texas State Championship.

They were two of seven two-man anglers competing on Lake Lavon representing the Marble Falls High School fishing club. The duo finished no worse than ninth, club sponsors said.

QUOTABLE: “Less than half of the teams weighed fish that day, so it was a tough day for most of us. The trip was not without excitement however and always fun to spend time with such wonderful boys who represented the Highland Lakes area very well,” club sponsor Lorna Ellis said.
