Lawrence Peter Kavanagh

Lawrence Peter Kavanagh, 93, died March 16, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 20, 1918.
He served with the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific War during World War II. After the service, he worked in finance in New York. He spent his retirement years in New York, Florida and the last 14 years in Marble Falls.
He was a quiet man affectionately known as “Grandpa.” His artwork, his love for nature and animals and, most of all, his dry sense of humor will be missed.
Survivors include daughters Teresa and husband Gordon Tyson of Georgetown, and Joan and husband Matthew Kosciuk of Laguna Hills, Calif.; son Lawrence and wife Peggy Kavanagh of Marble Falls; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa.
A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. March 19 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 105 RR 1431 East in Marble Falls.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. March 20 at the church.
