Former Mustang pushes himself in obstacle contests, prepares for Death Race

MARBLE FALLS — When Isaiah Vidal goes out for a run, he gets stares from drivers and walkers.
His strange mask and 45-pound vest are what draw the attention of passersby. The mask limits the amount of oxygen he receives to mimic training in high altitudes and increases lung capacity. The vest’s extra weight makes him faster and stronger.
Both are designed to help him survive the extreme obstacle races in which the self-proclaimed “insane” athlete competes.
