David H. Fillmore

David H. Fillmore Jr., 92, of Kingsland died March 13, 2012. He was born to David H. and Zelma (Hoggett) Fillmore in Stillwater, Okla., on Jan. 17, 1920.
He was raised on a farm and in a town house purchased the day after the Oklahoma Sooner Rush by his father.
He retired to Sunrise Beach in 1971. He has resided in Kingsland for several years.
He was a member of the Kingsland Masonic Lodge No. 1424 for more than 60 years. He also was a faithful member of the Kingsland Lions Club. He served as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Air Corps, one of the youngest at the time, during World War II.
His grandfather was an itinerant minister in the Oklahoma Territory. His cousins wrote and published Christian Poetry.
Survivors include daughter Diane Eleveld; daughter-in-law Debbie Fillmore; grandchildren Chris Eleveld, Zack Eleveld and wife Portia, Scott Sereboff and wife Stefanie, Laura Frank, Matt Gosh and wife Michelle, David H. Fillmore IV and Joseph Grey; great-grandchildren Ryan, Allyson, Lillian Eleveld, Jayden Sereboff, Miranda and Noah Gosh.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rachael (Husted), whom he married in 1942; and his son David H. Fillmore III.
A visitation is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 21 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (388) 325-0008.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. March 22 at the Kingsland Community Church with the Rev. John Woody officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Burnet with the assistance of the Highland Lakes Honor Guard and Kingsland Masonic Lodge No. 1424.
