Hazel Laverne Lacy, 94, of Horseshoe Bay died Feb. 26, 2012. She was born in Lexington, Okla., on Sept. 10, 1917, to Wiley and Pearl (Phillips) Boatright.

She graduated from Oklahoma City Business College. She and her husband operated a furniture store for many years.

In 1960, she moved to the Hill Country, where she enjoyed the lakes and bird watching. She was devoted to God, taught Sunday school for many years and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls.

She had a great love for people, especially children, and enjoyed helping anyone she could.

Survivors include sons William Lacy and special friend Wendy Palomo of Horseshoe Bay and Robert Lacy and wife Karen of Spicewood; daughters Donna Barksdale and husband James of Austin and Sue Williams and husband Clovis of Austin; sisters Katherine Pomikahl, Lois Weiner and Beverly Cunningham; brothers Joe Boatright and John Boatright; grandchildren Lori, Jay, Danny, Barry, Julie, Doug, Nick and Scott; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell “Bill” Lacy; grandson Russ Lacy; brothers J.B. Boatright, Chief Boatright and Jack Boatright; and sisters Edith Ruth Boatright, Barbara West and Judy Middleton.

A graveside service is 3 p.m. Feb. 29 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, 4219 Park Road 4 South in Burnet, with the Rev. Max Copeland officiating.

The family thanks Encompass Home Health and Texas Home Health Hospice for their care and her caregiver, Randy Morgan, for his love and devotion.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
