Tony Hogue Sr.
Tony Hogue Sr., 68, of Marble Falls died Feb. 24, 2012, at the Granite Mesa Health Center surrounded by family and friends. He was born in New Mexico on Aug. 31, 1943, to Cecil and Georgia Hogue.
He lived in Marble Falls for most of his life and worked as a car sales manager at a Ford dealership. For enjoyment, he served as an assistant Scout master for a local Boy Scout troop, watching his son rise to Eagle Scout.
His life’s passion was local politics and the betterment of the city he called home. He served as a councilman, as mayor pro-tem and eventually as the mayor of Marble Falls. During his time in office, he helped bring about numerous major changes that helped the city move forward and successfully grow, particularly in public works and street projects.
He had a strong interest in the Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department.
Most important, he wanted to be remembered for the friendships and relationships he made along the way.
Survivors include sons Tony Jr. and wife Allie of Round Rock and William and wife Brandy Murtha of Rockport; grandchildren Kendal and Landrie Hogue of Round Rock and Lilly Murtha of Rockport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Madison Grace Hogue.
A service will be held at Remembrance Gardens in Austin at a date to be announced.
