Marie Hahn Evans

Marie Hahn Evans, 94, of Burnet died Feb. 25, 2012. She was born in Bethel on Sept. 1, 1917, to Myron and Ida Shelburn Hahn.

She was a homemaker and an accomplished quiltmaker.

Survivors include son Willis Evans and wife Rachel of Burnet; daughter Margaret Ann Mayes of Denison; grandchildren Larry and Cheryl Evans of Burnet, Suzanne  and Troy Gailey of Chandler, Misty Carter of Argyle and Bret Mayes of Denison; great-grandchildren Brandon Evans, Heather Brooks, Meagan Gailey, Jared Gailey, Jenifer Schilling, Carey Schilling and Jill Schilling; and great-great-grandchildren McKenzie Evans, Cooper Evans and Hannah Brooks.

She was preceded in death by husband Henry Evans; son Richard Evans; and sister Audrey Smith.

A service was Feb. 27 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444, with the Rev. Barry Drake officiating. Private interment followed.
