Marble Falls boys soccer team loses to Leander Vandegrift
LEANDER — The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Leander Vandegrift Feb. 10.
The Mustangs (4-8, 0-1) faced a 1-0 deficit with 14 minutes left in the first half.
That went to 2-0 when a Viper forward (1-0) stole the ball from a Mustang defender, who was dribbling. The Viper snuck a peak at the Marble Falls goalie and noticed he was expecting a crossing pass to a teammate.
Instead, the Viper took the shot from the side, curving the ball snugly into the net.
Marble Falls hosts Cedar Park High 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive.
