MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School baseball team will hold its annual Hit a Thon fundraiser Feb. 4.

The event is 11 a.m. at Scearce Baseball Field, 2101 Mustang Drive.

Mustangs head coach David Norwood, who serves as the director of the event, said he would like to develop an alumni division this year.

“We are asking that all our alumni out there get at least $50 in pledge money to participate in the long ball contest,” he said.

The Hit a Thon allows each current player five swings at the ball. Organizers measure the longest hit, and donors give money based on how far the ball travels.

Awards will be given to the player who has the most pledges and to the alumnae who records the longest hit.

Booster club members will cook hamburgers, so a concession will be open. Mustang baseball apparel also will be sold.

This is the only fundraiser for the Mustangs.
