Phinios “Bill” Murray Perry, 80, of Kingsland died Jan. 23, 2012. He was born in Valley View on June 28, 1931, to Clinton A. and Willie I. Kennedy Perry.

He married Tommie Ruth VanZandt on Feb. 10, 1951.

He was an active member of the Church of Christ, and his love for the Lord was always evident in his life. He was a self-employed salesman and a lifelong member of the Monahans Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

He served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Kimberly Perry of Abilene; sons Steve Perry of Giddings and Bevin Perry of Midland; daughter-in-law Teresa Stoner and husband David of Monahans; grandchildren Amy Curry of Stephenville, Logan Perry of Giddings, Amanda Sansom and husband Jason of Waco, Jody Perry and wife Rachel of Monahans, Chad Perry of Midland and Brittany Perry of Midland; great-grandchildren Ryan Curry and Rylee Johnson, both of Stephenville, Brianna Sansom of Waco and Savannah Perry and Hannah Ruth Perry, both of Monahans; great-great-grandson Preston Curry of Stephenville; sister Darlene Bayes and husband Joe of Eunice, N.M.; brothers-in-law Joel VanZandt and wife Eleanor of Levelland, Verlon VanZandt and wife Cecily of Lexington and Vincent Van Zandt and wife Terri of Giddings.

Visitation was Jan. 24 at Putnam Funeral Home. A service was Jan. 25 at the Church of Christ in Buchanan Dam with Leon Bridges officiating. A graveside service is 4 p.m. Jan. 28 at Monahans Municipal Cemetery in Monahans with Greg Holly officiating.
