Richard “Dick” A. Hill Sr., 67, of Kingsland died Jan. 19, 2012, in Austin. He was born in Texas City on Jan. 26, 1944, to Ralph W. and Louise M. Born Hill.

His career spanned being a skilled machinist at Texas City Refinery to a respected maintenance manager at a specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution company.

Afterwards, he was successful as a consultant for various companies including Cooling Towers of Texas. In 2007, he moved to the Hill Country to enjoy his retirement with his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat,” and boxer Mitsu.

He enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing different cultures and foods. His passions included cooking, entertaining and boating. His favorite pastime was teasing his friends and family members.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Kathy Morris and husband Jeff Morris; sons Rick Hill and Ted Hill and wife Wendy; seven grandchildren; and brother Randy Hill and wife Marta.

A celebration of life is 2-5 p.m. Jan. 28 at Landry’s Seafood House on the Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah.
