Longina P. ‘Kina’ Martinez

Longina P. “Kina” Martinez, 84, of Kingsland died Jan. 20, 2012. She was born in Kingsville on May 15, 1927, to Manuel and Willie McGrow Perez.
She was born on the King Ranch and that is how she got the nickname Kina.
She was a homemaker most of her life and lived in the area since 1969. In earlier times, she and her husband, Abram Perez Martinez, worked at Highland Lakes Banks for 12 years in the maintenance and custodial departments. She was an avid quilter, cook and bingo player, enjoyed garage sales and making tamales and liked animals.
Survivors include sons Albert Martinez and wife Linda of Kingsland and Arturo Salas of Robstown; daughter Mary Moen of Kingsland; stepchildren Abran Martinez Jr. of Waco, Manuela Rodriquez, Esmeralda Renteria, Eloisa Esparza, Dolores Sanchez and Victor Martinez, all of Odessa, Lupe Degman of Boston, Angelita Mitchell of Tyler and Pedro Martinez and Joe Luis Martinez, both of Kingsland; 54 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Visitation was Jan. 22 at Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
A service was Jan. 23 at Calvary Hill Church in Kingsland with the Rev. Zane Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
