Viola Chambers

Viola Chambers, 90, of Burnet died Jan. 11, 2011. She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Burnet, the daughter of Ike and Eva Guthrie.

She lived in Burnet and attended school there during her childhood.

She married Sam McHam from Paris, Texas, on Sept. 24, 1938, in Burnet. She moved back to Burnet in 1965 where she lived until her death.

Survivors include son James McHam and wife Patricia of Burnet; brother S.M. Guthrie and wife Margie Dale of Angleton; grandchildren Jason and Janice McHam of Burnet, and Christie and Scott Dorsett of Elgin; great-grandchildren Jordyn McHam, Haley McHam, Savannah McHam, and Aryanna and Clay Dorsett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Jan. 12 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.

Services are 2 p.m. Jan. 13 at the First Assembly of God in Burnet with Bo McHam and Jay McHam officiating.

Pallbearers include Tommy Guthrie, Bobby Guthrie, Ricky Guthrie, Donny Guthrie, Jay McHam and Scott Dorsett.
