Paul Thompson ‘Pete’ Ayers

Paul Thompson ‘Pete’ Ayers, 66, of Horseshoe Bay died Dec. 28, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Bastrop.
He was raised in Austin, graduated from S.F. Austin High School and became a master electrician. He co-owned A&D Electric. Upon his retirement from Motorola Inc., he moved to Lake LBJ with his wife to enjoy their children, grandchildren and life on the lake.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Sunrise Beach. He volunteered at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin and was a regular donor at the Central Texas Regional Blood Center, now The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas.
He also served on the Sandy Harbor POA board of directors and the Sandy Harbor Volunteer Fire Department.
One of his passions was competitive softball, and he spent many years playing on teams around Austin. He also enjoyed a round of golf.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Hamilton Ayers; his son Kevin and wife Elizabeth Ayers; daughters Debra Ayers and Christina and husband Joshua Martin; grandchildren Zachary, Payton and Nicholas Ayers, and Morgan and Sloane Martin; brother Harold and wife Kimberly Ayers; sister Sue and husband John Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
