Clarence William ‘Bill’ Fullilove

Clarence William “Bill” Fullilove, 72, died Dec. 30, 2011, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Jan. 22, 1939, to Clarence and Catherine Fullilove.
He grew up in the Houston area attending schools in The Heights. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1962.
The love of aviation began for him when he was employed at Delta Airlines in the baggage area. A pilot suggested he learn to fly and become an airline pilot. After many hours of flight training, tests and hard work, he began his career as a corporate pilot and later enjoyed being an international airline pilot.
Aviation afforded him the opportunity to live in Saudi Arabia, Michigan, Florida, California and Texas. It was always easy to have conversation with him if you started talking about flying or aviation.
After retiring from aviation, he enjoyed driving a school bus in the Kerrville and Marble Falls school districts.
He loved being with children on a daily basis. He retired from his driving career in October 2011 after making many friends, young and old, within the school districts.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls. He became a Christian at a young age and enjoyed the fellowship of many friends through church.
Favorite hobbies included golf and travel, and he enjoyed spending time with family, friends and children.
Survivors include his wife Kathy; mother Catherine Abercrombie of Willis; sister Kathy Wingate of Houston; son Tony Fullilove of Waterloo, Iowa; stepsons Jay Bowden and wife Alicia of Rex, Ga., and Brent Bowden of Smyrna, Ga.; step-grandchildren Abbey and Jobey Bowden, also of Rex, Ga.; niece Karri; great-nephew Cody; and great-niece Anna.
