Burnet, Llano counties extend general deer season to Jan. 15
LLANO — Though the general season for deer hunting ends Jan. 1, Llano, San Saba and Burnet counties have extended the season until Jan. 15 for anterless and spiked bucks only.
Dale Schmidt, wildlife technician for Llano and San Saba counties, said each county has a different late general season, so he encourages hunters to read their regulations books.
“I find a lot of hunters haven’t reviewed the regulations,” he said.
As for how the general season has gone, Schmidt said he has heard hunters have bagged quite a few deer.
