Roger S. Boling, 70, of Cottonwood Shores died Dec. 25, 2011. Born Nov. 9, 1941, in Austin, he was the son of Roy Aunsutz and Oma Gertrude Boling.

He was an optician for the State Hospital and State School for 40 years. He was a member of several bass clubs and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his wife Jerral Elaine Boling; sons James Matthew Boling and wife Hilda of Spicewood and Roger Dale Boling of Austin; stepson Timothy Wayne Moon and wife Kem of Manor; stepdaughter Pamela Renee Rice and husband Charles of Round Rock; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers Roy Lee Boling of Austin and Eugene Snyder of Germany.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Spencer and Viola Boling; parents; and stepson Robert Moon.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Dec. 27 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373.

A graveside service is 1 p.m. Dec. 28 at Ridgeway Cemetery in Paige.  Pallbearers include Dale Boling, James Boling, Randy Grounds, Dell Read, Earl Loggin, Ken Everitt and Lino Gutierrez.

Honorary pallbearers are all his fishing buddies.
