Jack Neil Kenyon, 79, died Dec. 24, 2011.

He was born to Harold Albert Kenyon and Lila Grace Zilsdorf Kenyon June 3, 1932, at St. Charles, Ill.

He grew up in the Maple Park, Ill., area and learned the cattle business. He served in the 728th Military Police Battalion in Korea 1953-1954.

In his later years, he enjoyed seeing his comrades at service reunions.

He enjoyed flying helicopters, airplanes and seaplanes.

He married Jane Wright Harris Feb. 14, 1986. Their first date was at the Lampasas Drugstore in 1955. They drank Coca-Cola.

He loved his three late dogs Dobie, Woody, and Mosca. These loyal companions frequently traveled with him in his Ford pickup.

Survivors include children Jaye Kenyon and husband John Kuker of Fredericksburg, Judy and husband Gregg Bennett of Mineral Pint, Wis., Lee and wife Diane Kenyon of Wimberley, Jackie Kenyon of Elgin, Sonia Stewart of Harker Heights, Rachel and husband Martin Henry of Burnet, Regina and husband Ronnie Brown of Lampasas and Rhonda and Randy Blanton of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and lifelong best friend Nolan Green.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Julie Marie Fernekes Kenyon Oct. 30, 1985.

Graveside services were Dec. 26 at Nix Cemetery in Lampasas.
