Eunice Lee Taylor

Eunice Lee Taylor, 82, of Burnet died Oct. 16, 2011. She was born in Burnet County Nov. 25, 1928, to Rufus E. and Eunice Bee Riggs.
As a young girl, she enjoyed playing on softball and volleyball teams and loved riding horses.
She married Thomas D. Taylor July 14, 1950, and had two children.
For most of her adult life, she lived in Austin, where she worked for the Teachers Retirement System. She retired to Burnet County after twenty-plus years of service with the state.
She was born and raised a proud Texan and passed on those values to her children and family. She remained a strong, independent, sharp-witted and caring person.
Like a genuine Texan, she spoke her mind and let the chips fall where they may.
Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Laks and husband Earl of Boerne; son Rick D. Taylor of Burnet; stepson Jimmy Hibler and his wife Cheryl; stepdaughter Rhonda Brown and husband Mike; grandson Kevin N. Donalson of St. Louis; step-grandchildren Amy Bacon, Carrie Harris and husband Joe and Todd Brown; step-great-grandchildren Bailey, Rylee and Bradie Bacon, Trenton and Josie Hibler, and Caden Massoletti.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and grandson Josh Hibler.
A visitation is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 20 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.
A funeral service is 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the funeral home.
