Flames work on passing, ‘fight’ during bye week
MARBLE FALLS — One of the strengths of the Faith Academy football team is its ability to run the football.
The Flames (3-3, 0-1) are averaging more than 250 yards on the ground.
They have struggled in the passing game, usually completing a handful of passes and averaging less than 70 yards in the air.
“I’m happy about our ability to move the football,” head coach Russ Roberts said. “I think we have the ability to move the ball. I’m not really upset about our passing game. We haven’t been consistently throwing the ball a lot.”
So, is it unusual to think Faith will use the bye week to work on the passing game?
“We need to go in a different direction,” he said. “We have the people to throw the ball and throw it well, and we’re not doing it.”
