Margaret (Tatsch) Rode
Margaret (Tatsch) Rode, 86, died Sept. 18, 2011, in Waco. She was born to Minnia (Moellendorf) and Edmund Tatsch June 26, 1925, in Harper.
She married Leroy Rode Aug. 3, 1949, in Harper.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Castell. She taught school at Cherry Springs and Morris Ranch schools.
In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters Rhonda Perkins and husband Tommy of Castell, and Ranae Knust and husband Reinhold of West; grandchildren Sarah Matthys and husband Bradley, and Aaron and Cole Perkins; great-granddaughter Kindra EllaMarie Matthys; and brother Roland Tatsch of Dripping Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
A funeral service is 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at St. John Lutheran Church in Castell with the Rev. Scott Hofmann officiating.
Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Aaron Perkins, Cole Perkins, Bradley Matthys, Andy Feaster, R.C. Oestreich and Edward Burkle.
Honorary pallbearers are Norman Grenwelge and Henry Lang.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Castell School Restoration or a charity of choice.
