Lee Roy Knox

Lee Roy Knox, 86, of Buchanan Dam and formerly of Lovington, N.M., died Sept. 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born Jan. 3, 1925, to Henry Knox and Loma Lee (Hale) Knox in Longworth.
He married Faye (Ratliff) Knox on Jan. 3, 1947, in Roby. He owned an auto glass and upholstery shop. He retired in 1974 and became a resident of Buchanan Dam. He was a very talented woodworker and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of Buchanan Dam; son Mike Knox and wife Rose of Marble Falls; daughters Sue Carothers of Oakalla and Kathy Hardy and husband Ray of Lovington, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Roy Knox; a brother; and a sister.
A funeral service is 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel , 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767, with the Rev. David Villar officiating.
Burial follows at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
