Claborne Leonard Perry Sr., 73, of Llano died Sept. 6, 2011. He was born in Galveston on March 5, 1938, to Hugh Benson and Carrie Gillette (Cole) Perry.

He retired from Central Freight Lines after 21 years and was a member of the Masons in Waco. He also was the president of the Burnet Kiwanis Club from 1986-1987, a charter member of the Burnet County Crime Stoppers and was very active in youth sports in Galveston County.

Survivors include his wife Deborah Kay Perry of Llano; sons Clay Perry and wife Marilyn and Ben Perry and wife Kariann, all of Waco; daughter Melissa Hamilton and husband Stacy of Texas City; sisters Joyce Ciranni and Barbara Hartnett, both of Galveston; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Hugh Benson Perry Jr.

A service is 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with the Rev. Richard Vandventer officiating.
