MARBLE FALLS — So far, the volleyball season has unfolded the way most thought it would.

Lake Travis, which is now the No. 1-ranked team nationally by PrepVolleyball.Com, is 27-0 with Cedar Park Vista Ridge (19-5) ranked No. 4 in the area.

The Lady Cavs are the defending Class 4A state champions, while Vista Ridge was the 4A runner-up in 2005.

Other powerhouses Dripping Springs and Cedar Park are also moving right along.

Why is all this important? Because at 6:30 p.m. Friday when the Marble Falls football team is at Burnet, the Lady Mustangs (11-10) will welcome Lake Travis to Max Copeland Gym, 2101 Mustang Drive.

“Yeah, expectations of what we predicted in the preseason are holding true,” said Lady Mustangs head coach Julie Downs said.

And yet, Marble Falls continues to improve, she added.

The best match the team has played at home so far was in a loss to Copperas Cove Tuesday, 11-25, 25-21, 18-25, 16-25.
