Marcue R. Neuhaus
Marcus R. Neuhaus, 94, of Tow, died Aug. 4, 2011. He was born in Diaz, Ark., on May 26, 1927, one of nine children to Henry Conrad Neuhaus and his wife Ona Elizabeth Henry.
He considered himself a farmer, but enjoyed surveying, woodworking and was a county agent in his younger years in Arkansas. He was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and spent more than 20 years in civil service in logistics at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Golfing was a favorite leisure activity. He was a member of the Tow Cemetery Association and Llano Farm Bureau. He worshiped with the congregation at Oaks West Church of Christ in Burnet.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Faye Behrn Neuhaus of Tow; daughters Marcia Neuhaus of Tow and Karen Neuhaus of San Antonio; sister Lena Newell of Oaktown, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Edward, Wayne and Hugh; and sisters Doris Neuhaus, Gertie Simmons, Hester Poole and Della Ely.
A funeral service was Aug. 6 the Putnam Funeral Home Chapel, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
Internment followed at Tow Cemetery.
