Dorothy Joanne Fudge Williams, 90, died Aug. 4, 2011, in Marble Falls. She was a longtime resident of Meadowlakes. She was born April 8, 1921, on a farm in Marrow Bone, Ky., the youngest child of Ellis and Bessie Fudge.

She departed Kentucky and worked in defense plants in California during World War II. She eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nev., until marrying Al Williams, a Texas native who died in the early 1980s and is buried in Marble Falls.

The couple spent spent several years in retirement in Guadalajara, Mexico. They started a new career of selling furs during the winter across the United States while residing in Kerrville.

They traveled worldwide during the summer and usually spent two months in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. These trips created many many memories and collectibles, which they proudly shared with friends and relatives.

She was a vivacious and outgoing person who never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed by friends and relatives.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Fred Fudge, Flava Fudge, F.M. Fudge, Faber H. Fudge, Franklin Fudge, Berniece Fudge Garrett, Earnest Fudge Garrett, Rena Fudge Garrett and Bertha Fudge Edwards.

Survivors include nephews and nieces living in Kentucky, Indiana and Georgia.

A visitation is 9 a.m. Aug. 9 at the Edgar Funeral Home chapel, 2105 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial is in the Marble Falls City Cemetery.
