John Edward Wilkes

John Edward Wilkes, 62, of Burnet died July 25, 2011. He was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Burnet, the son of J.B. and Ila Fern (Boultinghouse) Wilkes. 
He was a welder and a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include wife Patricia “Peaches” Wilkes of Burnet; sons Steven Failes of Burnet and Gerry Eugene Wilkes of Austin; aunt Glynn Wall of Burnet; and other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. July 27 at Smithwick Cemetery with Holton George officiating.
