Patricia ‘Pat’ Joan Clonts

Patricia “Pat” Joan Clonts, 79, of Kingsland and formerly of Houston, died July 16, 2011. She was born to John Anderson and Mary Emma (Hobrecht) Strickland on April 20, 1932, in San Antonio.
She married Kenyon Eugene Clonts Nov. 22, 1950, in San Antonio. She spent her early working years as a homemaker raising three sons. Later she became a real estate agent in the River Oaks area of Houston. She was the consummate hostess and had a comforting personality. She was truly interested in people and in their lives, and had a profound effect on everyone who met her.
While in Houston, she belonged to Houston First Methodist Church and moved her membership to Highland Lakes United Methodist Church when she relocated to Kingsland. She loved to water ski, snow ski and volunteered at the Kingsland Branch Library and at the church.
Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, survivors include sons Kenyon Eugene Clonts II and wife Melanie of Austin, John Curtis Clonts of Temple, and David Randall Clonts and wife Melissa Evans Clonts of Houston; 11 grandchildren; brothers Robert Louis Strickland of San Antonio and James Michael Strickland of Tampa, Fla.; sister Jerry Ann Strickland of Houston; close family friend Irene Cureti of Kingsland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation is 6:30-8 p.m. July 20 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
A memorial service is 10 a.m. July 21 at the Highland Lakes United Methodist Church at RR 1431 and Texas 29, with the Rev. Grady Roe officiating.
