Mary Jane ‘Janie’ Riley

Mary Jane “Janie” Riley, 75, of Austin died May 24, 2011, after a short battle with cancer.
She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Crime Records Division. She spent 51 years supporting the men and women of the Austin Police Department.
She was born in Detroit and raised in Mexico City. After graduating from high school, she moved to Texas, where she met Albert Riley in Marble Falls. They were married for 49 years before he died in 2003. She was a beloved mom, granny, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend.
Survivors include her sons Albert F. Riley Jr. and wife Lana of Kyle and James L. “Jim” Riley and wife Dee of Round Rock; grandsons Jimmy, David and Nick Riley, Austin Dorman and John Saladino; brother John Hull and wife Joyce; sisters-in-law Jo Manno and husband Bill and Ruth Heffington, all of Marble Falls; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved four-legged companion Codi Su.
A visitation is 6-8 p.m. May 26 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. in Austin. A service is 10:30 a.m. May 27 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 200 W. Anderson Lane in Austin, with the Rev. Karl Gronberg officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Marble Falls City Cemetery, 300 S. Ave. S in Marble Falls.
Pallbearers are Jimmy, David and Nick Riley, John Brett Hull, William Manno III and David Heffington.
