Retired Air Force Lt. Col. James H. Luttrell, 79, of Kingsland died May 5, 2011. He was born to Elmer and Mary (Clemmans) Luttrell on Jan. 24, 1932, in Cedarville, Ohio.

He retired from the military after a 20-year career. He was then a real-estate broker for  25 years in Carbondale, Colo.

He graduated from Wilmington College in Ohio with a bachelor of arts degree in education and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in business administration.

He is a former mayor of Carbondale, Colo.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, LoEva Luttrell of Kingsland; daughter Susan Williams and husband Homer of Granite Shoals; sons Mark Luttrell and wife Maureen, and Paul Luttrell and wife Amy, all of Carbondale, Colo., and Bob Luttrell and wife Karen of Marble Falls; grandchildren Daniel Luttrell and wife Brandi of San Antonio and Aaron and Adam, of Carbondale, Colo.

A memorial is 4 p.m. May 12 at the family residence in Kingsland. Private inurnment will be held in Colorado at a later date.
