Betty Ruth Howell, 79, of Burnet died April 29, 2011. She was born in Lake Victor on Sept. 16, 1931, to Lucious and Ethel Martin Warner.

She was a homemaker and found joy in meeting folks by selling Avon door to door. She donated time helping to drive ambulances and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Lake Victor. She loved quilting and reading, traveling adventures with her cousin Maggie Feild, participating in the Texas Extension Education Organization, weekly morning tea with her sisters and watching Burnet Bulldog sports. Above all, she was a great supporter of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their various activities.

Survivors include her children Sam Howell and wife Jackie of Kilgore, Martha Adams and husband Marvin of Burnet, Cindy Robertson of Burnet and Allen Howell and wife Donna of Hallettsville; sisters Nancy Ray and husband Bill, Billie Buck and husband C.B and Jeanette Mulhollan; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years Sam Howell in 1996; and son-in-law Steve Robertson in 2000.

Visitation was May 1. A service was May 2 at the Church of Christ in Lake Victor with Clayton Arnold and Mike Warner officiating. Interment followed in Warner Cemetery in Lake Victor.
