Jimmy Carrol Parker, 73, of Sunrise Beach died April 26, 2011, in Georgetown. He was born in Plumerville, Ark., on July 5, 1937, to David and Ida Mae (Thompson) Parker.

He was married to Diana Ruth Parker, who preceded him in death Aug. 22, 2007.

He was a volunteer fireman in Sunrise Beach, and was a member of the Blue Lake Country Club and the Sunrise Beach Beachers.

He moved to the area more than 20 years ago from Australia.

Survivors include his daughter April Lea Parker and husband Mark Archer of Virginia Beach, Va.; son Jimmy Parker of Sunrise Beach; sister Joanne Nash of Amarillo; brothers Bob Parker of Pampa and Don Parker of Borger; two grandchildren Amanda Parker of College Station and Alania Parker of Round Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, he also was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Dean Parker of Odessa and Bud Parker of Pampa.

Visitation is 5 p.m. April 28 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland. A service is 10 a.m. April 29 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach.

Pallbearers are Jared Trickey, Jimmy Parker and Mark Archer.
