Mary “Nett” Marshall, 74, of Burnet died April 17, 2011, in Round Rock. She was born in Tupelo, Miss., on Jan. 21, 1937, to Andrew and Mary Tutor Barryhill.

She was very studious in life; she tried everything and accomplished much. She was a licensed vocational nurse, a clerk for the library thrift store, assistant at the library, teachers aide, employee at the Hill Country Smoke House and was very active in 4-H and FFA.

She loved being a band parent, and sewed and kept up with repairs on the choir robes at church to help save money. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and started the Wednesday night Children’s Church at Bertram First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Oston Marshall of Burnet; daughters Mary Laverne Ray and husband Frank of Burnet, Kay Lowe and husband Ricky of Bertram, Tina Daniels and husband J.T. of Bertram and Tammy Childers and husband Johnny of Burnet; brothers A.J., Dean and Jackie Barryhill; sisters Ruby Moore, Rena Myers, Linda Barryhill, Debbie Carnes and Pam Becker; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Roy Barryhill; and sister Joyce Barnhill.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. April 20 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.

A service is 2 p.m. April 21 at Northside Baptist Church, 103 Shady Grove Road in Burnet, with the Rev. Jimmy Frazier officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bertram.
