Laverne Hull
Laverne Hull, 86, of Sunrise Beach died April 13, 2011. She was born to Eldie and Alma (Scheide) Tieman on Nov. 9, 1924, in Deanville.
She married John Hull June 1, 1948, in Houston. They spent 50 years together and he preceded her in death in 1998.
She received her registered nurse certificate in 1945 and worked for a doctor in Houston who delivered her first son.
She sewed and cooked for her sons as they were growing up and loved arts and crafts. The couple traveled around the world twice. In 1960, they purchased a vacation home in Sunrise Beach and retired there in 1987.
She was a part of everything, from the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary to “The Beachers.”
A faithful member of the Sunrise Beach Federated Church, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include sons John Hull and wife Valerie of San Antonio, Jim Hull and wife Amelia and Rick Hull and wife Robbi, all of Austin; grandchildren Chris Hull and wife Jamie of Sunrise Beach, Sarah Hull of San Antonio, and Sam Hull, Matthew Hull, Ashlee Hull and Heather Hull, all of Austin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Robert “Bobby” Hull in 1995.
A funeral service was April 17 at Sunrise Beach Federated Church. Interment followed at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach.
