Senate groundwater bills get local support

BURNET — Two state Senate bills focused on Texas landowners’ rights to groundwater under their property are picking up support from local officials.

“For me, it is very simple,” Todd Fox, Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District vice president, said Friday.  “Do you believe our water is better off in the hands of the government, or do you believe our water belongs in the hands of the Texas landowners?”
