Earle Funke, 82, of Burnet died March 15, 2011. He was born in York, Penn., on Nov. 2, 1928, to Charles and Ellen Funke.

He served in the Army during and after World War II in Italy.

After he was discharged, he came home and married Faye Jacoby. He was a retired construction contractor.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years; sons Larry Funke of Murphy, N.C., and Randy Funke of Pueblo, Colo.; daughters Donna Samford of Burnet and Susan Scott of Dripping Springs; sister Ellenora King of York, Penn.; brothers-in-law Jim Jacoby of York, Penn., and Ronald Jacoby of Middletown, Del.; sister-in-law Doris Gorolovich of Delaware; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. March 18 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.

A graveside service is 2 p.m. March 19 in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill with the Rev. Donald Ledbetter officiating.
