Harold Ross Parker, 77, of Llano died Feb. 13, 2011. He was born Aug. 18, 1933, to Lula Mae (Fain) and Joseph Merkel Parker in Philadelphia, Miss.

He married Noley (Phillips) Parker on March 15, 1963, in Grand Falls. They moved to the area in 1987 from Midland. He was a drilling superintendent in the oil fields and also worked at the Llano Feed and Supply for many years. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He loved fishing, gardening and his animals. He was a member of the Llano Cowboy Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Kimberly Parker of Llano; son Joseph Ross Parker and wife Geraldine of Llano; sister Amanda Eakes and husband Marzine of Jackson, Miss.; brother Robert Parker and wife Lucille of Philadelphia, Miss.; grandchildren Brittney, Megan, Jacob and Madison; great-grandchildren Rylee and Gavin; and lifelong friends J.D. and Dorothy Keith of Llano.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruna Parker.

Viewing was Feb. 15 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.

A service is 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stacey Nobles officiating. Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Josh Rode, Nathan Haggerton, Roland Rode, Jessie Weaver, Edward Keith and Jacob Parker; honorary pallbearers are his many friends.
