Emma Marie Schorlemmer, 92, died Jan. 7, 2011, in Llano.

She was born May 15, 1918, in Llano County to Rudolph Schorlemmer and Lydia Oehler Schorlemmer.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a lifetime member. She was the primary donor of Schorlemmer Hall, so named to honor her and the Schorlemmer family.

After receiving her education in the Llano public schools, she left Llano to work in San Antonio for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and later at the Alamo Museum Gift Shop.

After retiring, she returned to her home in the Lone Grove Community. She has lived at the Care Inn Nursing Facility the past five years.

Survivors include sisters Esther Schorlemmer of Llano and Clara Wittig and husband Chester of Seguin; brother Reynold Schorlemmer of Llano; and nephew Stanley Wittig of Seguin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister Amalia.

A funeral service was Jan. 9 at St. James Lutheran Church in Llano with the Rev. Elliott Pancoast officiating.

Burial followed at Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Lyle Costar, William Dromgoole, Roy Goff, Ernest Ligon, Keith Morgan and John Thompson.
