Ruth Boyett Link, 94, died Jan. 3, 2011, in Austin. She was born to Faunie and Evie Boyett in Hollis, Okla., on Sept. 2, 1916.

She attended public schools in Hollis and graduated from high school in 1934. She later earned an education degree from Oklahoma State University, formerly Oklahoma A&M University, then moved to Fence Lake, N.M., and married Wilson Link.

They raised a family of three sons, farmed pinto beans and she taught school. They moved to Roswell, N.M., in 1957 where she continued to teach school. After a five-year stint in Burley, Idaho, in the early 1970s, they returned to New Mexico and lived in Albuquerque until her husband’s death in 2008.

She then moved to the Austin area.

Her gift was teaching and she had a positive impact on many young people. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include sons Bob and Lynn; daughter-in-law Pam; grandchildren Meredith Neimeyer, Casey Link, John Link, Jeff Link and Audrey Link Archer; great-grandchildren Emily, Owen, Elizabeth, Alex, Eva, Avery and Taylor; and  many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Doris Jane; son Rusty; parents; brothers Ray, E.L. and Paul; and sisters Fairy, Ruby and Louise.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 909 Ave. D in Marble Falls. Her ashes will be interred in the Community Cemetery in Fence Lake at a later date.

The family offers special thanks to the caregivers at Gateway Gardens in Marble Falls and Allways Care in Austin for their love and support over the past few months.
