Jack Holly Miller
Jack Holly Miller, 89, of Horseshoe Bay died Dec. 15, 2010. Born Dec. 12, 1921, in Navasota, he was the son of Jack Henry and Carolyn Frances (Peynghaus) Miller.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a staff sergeant with the 46th Fighter Squadron. The Asiatic Pacific Campaigns took him to Iwo Jima, Canton Island and Makin Island.
He was a member of the first class that graduated from Bates College of Law, which is now the University of Houston Law Center. He was a member of the Texas Bar, Louisiana Bar and New Orleans Bar associations.
Survivors include his wife Flora Ann Miller of Horseshoe Bay; daughter Holly Estelle Bell of Austin; son Jackson Richard Miller and wife Mimi of New Orleans; grandchildren Jackson R. Miller Jr., Savannah Miller, Elijah Miller and Espen Grady Miller; sister-in-law Virginia Estill of Belton; brother-in-law Charles Jones and wife Suzanne of Spicewood; and other relatives.
A memorial service is noon Jan. 5 at the Church at Horseshoe Bay, 600 Hi Ridge in Horseshoe Bay with Pete Christy, Johnny White and Larry Sherwood officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Church at Horseshoe Bay or to a favorite charity.
