“Grandpa, I thought this day would never come,

I’m just glad it’s almost done.

God has spoken, His will has been complete.

Now it’s time for you to rest and sleep.

When the days go by you will always be here;

My tears have shed, I will hold them dear.

You are not suffering but are in a better place.

I just wish I could see your face.

God took you willingly with an open hand.

I will see you again in the Promised Land.

Rest in Peace,

I love you Grandpa!”

— Written by his granddaughter Jodicee after his death.
