Ida Mae Scott

Ida Mae Scott, 79, died Dec. 7, 2010, at the Kingsland Care Center in Kingsland. She was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Mitchell County to Lottie (Neatherland) and Clarence Allen.
She was raised in Texas, lived in California for a few years with her husband and daughter and returned to live in Tow until her death.
Grandma Ida (as everyone called her) will be remembered for her kind and gentle ways. She loved everyone and they returned the love. She will be missed.
Survivors include daughter Tanna Sue Scott Smithson of Kennewick, Wash.; grandson Dr. Shawn Ray Scott of Kingsland; granddaughter Shanna Lare Leone of Richland, Wash.; great-granddaughter Anna Leone of Tumwater, Wash.; great-grandson Jacob Bertelsen of Richland, Wash.; sisters Ruth Geraldine Padgett and Lottie Loraine Maroney, both of Midland; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers C.L. Allen, O.D. Allen and Bill Allen; sister Dorothy Fay Allen Rhoten; and husband Charlie Ray Scott.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Waldrope-Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland.
Burial will be held at Tow Cemetery.
The family thanks all her friends and caregivers for the help she received during her final months.
