Susan Riley
Susan Riley, 65, died Nov. 20, 2010, in Odessa after an ongoing battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 26, 1945, in Abilene.
After graduating from high school she attended Angelo State University. Professionally, she spent many years as a legal secretary, as well as an executive assistant for the chief executive officer of a public company.
Most recently, she worked as an administrative assistant for the Llano County Attorney’s Office and in the mortgage banking industry in Odessa.
She was a great public relations specialist with a knack for phrases. She loved the University of Texas Longhorns and the Houston Astros. She should have been a sports commentator.
She loved to talk about her family, her friends and her pets.
Survivors include her sons Mitch Riley and wife Betsy and Luke Riley and wife Kylie; grandchildren Kate Riley, Drew Riley and Parks Riley; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by parents Henry and Lois Short; brother Steve Short; and her husband of 33 years, Stan Riley.
A service was Nov. 22 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors in Odessa with visitation the day before.
