Lela Beatrice Wright, 94, died Nov. 14, 2010, in Copperas Cove.  She was born near Leander May 2, 1916, to Addie and Claude Simpkins.

She married Henry Wright Feb. 9, 1946.

She spent most of her life in this area and recently lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Copperas Cove.

She had many hobbies, but especially enjoyed “piecing” quilts and quilting.  She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters Lee Ann Moore of Leander and Carlene Johns and husband Ray of Copperas Cove; grandsons Ray Johns Jr. and wife Sharon and Shane Johns and wife Lisa, all of Burnet, and Clay Wright and wife Jennifer of Leander; granddaughter Aimee Evers and husband Christopher of Leander; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Grace Williams and husband J.B. of Liberty Hill and Nora Simpkins of Georgetown; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and sisters Bertha Cox, Fannie Rampy and Hazel Williams.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Jason Dunn officiating.

Pallbearers include Randy Williams, Quint Williams, James Williams, Gene Rampy, Cadmus Brown and Bart Morgan.
