Ray Edward Davis
Ray Edward Davis, 77, of Kingsland died Nov. 3, 2010. He was born to Harry D. and Mary E. Mivelaz Davis on Nov. 13, 1932, in San Antonio.
He graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 1958.
He was married to Patricia J. Freeman for 51 years. He was a former member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in San Antonio, where he coached Catholic Youth Organization sports and was a past president of the parish school board.
He was an active member of the St. Charles Family Guild for more than 45 years. After retiring in 2001, he became a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 151 Trinity Drive in Kingsland.
He also was a member of St. Charles Men’s Club and the Kingsland Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include children Mike Davis and wife Connie, Susan Krawietz and husband Rick, Chris Davis and wife Laura, and Lisa Davis; grandchildren Jackie and Colton Krawietz, Louis and Ian Freymuth, and Jacob Davis and Allison Davis; sisters Lillian Davis and Mary H. Jennings; brother Harry Davis Jr. and wife Darlene; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Theresa August.
Visitation is noon Nov. 5 at Putnam Funeral Home & Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kingsland. Interment will follow 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.
